C & M Safety Terms & Conditions

Please note that the following are the Terms & Conditions of C & M Safety Ltd that must be adhered to:

It is a prerequisite that all who are nominated by their employer to participate on a machine training course do not suffer from any medical condition or disability which could impede the safe operation of machinery. Our instructor must be notified of any such condition.

All pieces of Plant & Machinery must be in perfect order before we can carry out tests. To comply with legislation, all lifting machines must have been examined in the past 12 months* and a certificate of examination must be available for inspection by our instructor.

*In the case of lifting tackle, examination must have been carried out within the past 6 months


If C & M Safety are unable to carry out training & testing due to defective plant and machinery, all cost incurred must be borne by the client.

With the exception of participants on Safe Pass courses, all participants nominated for CSCS training courses must be over 18 years of age, must hold the appropriate driving licence and must be insured.

  • Course fees need to be paid in full before the course can take place.
  • Clients are responsible for instructor mileage & accommodation.
  • Certificates will not be issued until full payment is received.
  • Please take note of our cancellation policy as outlined below.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be notified in writing The following cancellation fee will apply:

  • Less than 24 working days' notice : 50% of course fee
  • Less than 10 working days' notice: 100% of course fee
  • No-shows will be charged in full

Payment will be forfeited for:

  • No shows: i.e. not turning up on the day of the course
  • If the course instructor deems participants unfit to partake i.e. intoxicated or hung over

CSCS New Entrants Programme Terms & Conditions

In addition to the above, the following additional Terms & Conditions apply for all CSCS (Skills Card) training in order to avoid cancellation of the course:

All participants must be over 18 years and have the Safe Pass Course completed before commencing training on any CSCS machinery. Proof of Safe Pass to be provided on the day of the course. Safe Pass card if it has been issued or letter if still awaiting card. It is obligatory for all candidates to provide confirmation that they have at least 3 months onsite experience within the previous 2 years.

All participants must have the Slinger/Signaller completed before commencing training on the Tower & Self Erector Tower Crane. Proof of ticket to be provided. All participants must bring Personal Protective Equipment (Hard Hat, Hi Vis Vest and Safety Boots) on the day of the course. Knowledge of and ability to use Technical English is required for the successful completion of this course.

NB You must bring all of the following on the day of the course:

  • Passport size Photo
  • Your PPS number
  • Your Safe Pass card
  • Completed CSCS New Entrants Programme

This is a FÁS regulation; you will not be permitted to take the course without them. Any damage caused to machinery or site during the course of the assessment must be borne by the client.

CSCS Experienced Operators Terms & Conditions

In addition to the above, the following additional Terms & Conditions apply for all CSCS (Skills Card) training in order to avoid cancellation of the course:

Instead of number 4 above, all participants who wish to take part in the CSCS Experienced Operators Programme must have completed the log book which they would have received following the completion of the FAS CSCS New Entrants Programme. Participants are reminded that they had between 6 months and 2 years to complete all the tasks in this book.
