New Entrant Training Programme for Site Dumper
Duration: 3 days
Certification: Following this 3 day programme A FAS Logbook will be issued to each participant on
this course. A Training Card will be issued to each participant direct from FAS.
Course Objective:
The aim of this training programme is to introduce the Learners to the programme and to encourage them to develop a positive attitude towards training, safety, health and hygiene while working as Plant Operators in the construction industry.
Candidate Requirement:
Candidates for this programme must have at least three months general construction experience. Candidates must also possess the FÁS Safe Pass Registration Card. Candidates must be over 18 Years of Age.
Course Content:
The Programme will consist of classroom sessions of underpinning knowledge relating to the Site Dumper operations, and operation of the Site Dumper.

- Prepare the machine for movement
- Travel the Site Dumper
- Set up for Operation and operate Site Dumper controls
- Load and unload the machine
- Park and Secure the crane
On completion of this programme there are certain tasks within the logbook which must be
completed. You are required to spend a minimum of six months operating the machine within a two
year timeframe before you can apply for your CSCS Card. Once the log book is completed you must
attend an additional 1 Day Assessment in order to receive your experienced ticket which is valid for 5 years.
