Primary Food Hygiene Course

Candidate Requirement:

Anyone who is involved in the preparation/handling/serving or disposal of food and food related items.

Course Objective:

To fulfil food handlers legal obligation under Article 27 of the EU (Hygiene of Foodstuffs) Regulations.

Course Content:
  • Food Hygiene - Why Bother?
  • Food Contamination.
  • Food Delivery and Storage.
  • Food Preparation.
  • Personal Hygiene.
  • Design and Layout of Food Premises.
  • Cleaning.
  • Introduction to HACCP.

Certification: On completion of the course participants are awarded a certificate from the Environmental Health Officers Association.

Duration: 9 hour course to be run over two evenings.
