Chainsaw Awareness
Candidate Requirements:
Anyone with a responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of Chainsaws.
Course Objective
To ensure that operators
- Understand the principles of accident causation and prevention
- Consider the work area conditions necessary to ensure safety
- Understand the relevant legislation in relation to the safe use of Chainsaw
Course Content:
- Introduction.
- Chainsaw Regulations.
- Basic Safety Rules.
- Introduction to working parts of the saw.
- Introduction to Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) relating to Chainsaw.
- Overheads on Safe Operation of Chainsaw.
- Chainsaw Safety in the forest (on hard wood trees).
- Demonstration - Edging the saw/checking the mechanics of the saw/checking P.P.E.
- Work Area Conditions
Certification: A C&M Safety Ltd Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to each participant on this course.
