Recognition of Prior Learning
C & M Training is happy to inform you that FAS have introduced the CSCS Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Scheme.
This is how it will work - please read the following with great care and attention.
1. An applicant may apply for exemption from some or all elements of a FAS CSCS New Entrant Programme (3day). The application must consist of the following documentation:
- CSCS Exemption Application Form
- Endorsement of Operating Competence form
- Self Skills Analysis
- Evidence of Training (Formal/Informal) undertaken
- Copies of any knowledge, skill and/or competence qualifications supported by the relevant course details (syllabus/documentation)
- Evidence of experience (At least 6 Months experience on the category for which you are applying). This experience must have been gained prior to March 2008.
- Report/s on projects undertaken
- Employment statement/s written by employers, managers, or supervisors
- Evaluation reports or appraisals from work managers, employers
- Statements of competencies from supervisor/s
- Photographic evidence of work supported by documentary evidence
- A comprehensive record of relevant employment experience including the names, addresses and contact details of employer(s) and a detailed breakdown of work based duties and responsibilities
2. The Applicant may also provide documentation to support and application for RPL, such as:
- Job Descriptions
- Curriculum Vitae
- References/Testimonials
3. Applicants should contact C & M Training to prepare an application for Exemption from a CSCS Programme.
4. C & M Training will check and ensure the Applicant has submitted a full and complete portfolio of evidence to support his/her application. Incomplete portfolios of evidence will be returned to the Applicant by C & M Training.
5. C & M Training will review the application and supporting documentation to assess whether exemption should be considered.
6. C & M Training will advise the Applicant on what needs to be included in any re-submitted exemption application.
7. Applicants whose applications are approved will be required to undertake a CSCS Experienced Operator Training/Assessment Programme in the required discipline. Candidates who are successful in the CSCS Experienced Operator Training Assessment Programme will be awarded FETAC Certification and will be eligible to apply for a CSCS Registration Card.
