Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
Duration: Approx 4 hours

Certification: An Irish Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers Course Completion Card.
Course Objective:
To teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with barrier devices, a bag mask device and oxygen), use of an Automated External Defibrillator and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings.
Candidate Requirement:
Anybody who is working in the profession of healthcare.
Course Content:
- Adult and Infant Chain of Survival
- Learn how to call 999 or 112
- Learn CPR for Adults, Children and infants 1 and 2 rescuers
- AED Instruction
- Recognition & relief of Choking in adults and children in responsive and unresponsive victims
- Scenario based practice
- Practical evaluation
- Written exam
